“Doug’s Selection”, “Rockabilly Rave”
Doug started broadcasting with FM107.5 in June 2013 and now broadcasts “Doug’s Selection” on Wednesdays between 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm. If you want to hear “a bit of everything”, tune in!
Doug has a great collection of music from country, pop and folk to classical, instrumental, rockabilly, and even some German artists. There will always be “a surprise” for you when you listen to “Doug’s Selection”.
Doug lives in Orange and his favourite pastime is listening to music. His other interests include World War II history in the Northern Territory – and he loves trucks.
“I decided join FM107.5 because I love music! I have a lot of music content the other presenters do not have and it is fantastic to be able to share it with the listeners.
“I began as a presenter at the station on 5th June, 2013. It was a one hour programme that was extended to three hours. Then in 2016 I moved to a four hour programme, Music Variety Show, on Saturday mornings and a two hour one called Rockabilly Rave on Saturday afternoons. The feed-back has been very positive, with listeners saying that they hear music not heard elsewhere on Australian broadcasts.
“My music comes from around the World, but in particular, Germany, Sweden, Holland and some other European countries. The genres cover Schlager, Pop, Country, and Rockabilly from a wide range artists.
“My favourite artist has to be Germany’s Andrea Berg, along with The Planet Rockers, USA, The Locomotions from Holland, and Snakebite of Sweden, and many Aussies too.
“As for hobbies, I love photography, mucking about on the computer and music file processing; it’s a big change after 30 years of driving semi’s all over our great country!”
