Mel Johnston might have hung up his shears quite a few years ago, but his skill and personal determination to excel, scored him countless State, Australian, and World titles in heavy competition shearing.

A career of accomplishments that spanned more than 30 years. He travelled the world in shearing competitions and even sheared sheep for the Queen!

On March 31st, 2013, Mel was inducted into the Australian Hall of Fame and that very same year, on September 12th, Mel was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia OAM, awarded for service worthy of particular recognition.
