A first for FM107.5 The Local Station…and a first for many, many years since the old days of ABC radio, our Orange studios will be the home of the hugely popular, nationally broadcast programme, ‘The Mike McColl Show’ as of this Saturday and will be heard all over Australia via the Community Radio Network.

Mike has a long history in both commercial and community radio – even providing radio shows and broadcasting to Australian Troops in Vietnam. He has moved to Orange, as of yesterday and after many years of visiting the region and loving everything our community has to offer, he has decided to make it his home.

‘The Mike McColl Show’ is a 4 hour call in request show and has always had huge listenership throughout the Central West with regular callers from Orange, Molong, Blayney, Cowra, Parkes, Wattle Flats and Wellington.

Having a show originating from here and heard from Townsville to Tasmania and everywhere in between and a host talking about our region, puts the national spotlight on our beautiful part of the world and would encourage new visitors. The technical aspects of sending a programme nationally from our studios have required a number of weeks of planning and tests working closely with Dan Callahan at the CBAA (Community Broadcasting Association of Australia), The Community Radio Network and our own Chief Technician, Steven Centofanti.

The first show will also coincide with the announcement of the new free, FM1075 Central West app which will be available very soon!
