If you are in the mood for jazz, then tune in to “Smooth Jazz” each Monday afternoon between 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm with Tina Hernando. Tina will play all the “oldies” including Ella, Frank, Nina, Louis and Billie as well as some of the newer jazz music from Dave Brubeck, Dianna Krall and Madeleine Peyroux with some World and Latin music in the mix.
Tina was Secretary of OCB from 2014 until 2016 and has recently taken up the secretary position once again for 2018.
“I moved to Orange with my daughter 4 years ago for a ‘tree change’ and had already become interested in ‘smooth jazz’ while living in Sydney. Having enjoyed listening to it on a local radio station there, I thought that I might be able to continue my interest by joining FM107.5 in Orange.
“Since joining the station and playing my own style of music I have learned much more about it and along the way I met others who appreciate it too. According to the feed-back I have received, people say that they love the programme because it incorporates music from the 1920s to current artists.
“My love for this style of music covers the old vintage recordings to modern exponents, whether they are French, American, English or Australian jazz singers and musicians such as Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble, Boney James to the Rippingtons. I can’t name a favourite artist or band; I love them all!”
