WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.) has been rescuing and caring for native animals since 1985. They handle up to 1,000 calls every day for animal rescues.

Ross Larsen talked to Kristy from WIRES about what to do this snake season, avoiding kangaroo attacks, bird rescues and what to do in the case of animals injured in fires.

WIRES now has a Wildlife Rescue App available for download. You can report a rescue directly from the app and access some of the most important information you need to know if you find native animals in distress.

Alternatively, you can call 1300 094 737 to report an animal in need.
